Starting new tank: 135G Cube FO

I am about to start a new tank for my room. As the title say, its going to be a 135G (36x36x24) FO with butterfly and angels. The tank will be euro-brace with 1/2 thick glass.

Will be soon making the tank, i am not sure yet how i want my overflow, maybe OSD style like my reef tank right now, or a overflow box with the hole on the bottom. it will only be able to see from 2 sides since its going to be in a corner.

Also, i am not sure if i will need sand or a bare bottom will be better for a FO tank. Need your opinions guys! Thanks

That is a great size for a cube. I have always wanted to do one but doubt that I can in the near future. I would be tempted to go with a center overflow box to make good top down viewing. As you are going FOWLR though I think it is whatever you prefer.

Cool Richard! I personnaly don't like BB so I just put a SSB in my FOWLR. It's really all in personnal tastes and type of fish you would like to keep as some are sand pickers.

Yup, i finally decide to go with SSB too since i prefer the look of sand.

Here's a picture of my first setup a year ago, the new tank will take the place of the old one.

    and the tank project

All the holes in the bottom are 1" and the hole for the overflow will be 1.5". I am not sure yet on which pump to put, but the 4x1" will be for the closed loop. Probably a Dart, having any other suggestion?

Can wait to do it hehe! So for the moment, i already have the light, its a giesemann basic pendant light 150W. I got a good deal on it and i think that 1 of it at around 12 inches from the water could make no big dead spot in the tank. Waiting for my skimmer now

havent though about the drain for the Dart... is one hole of 1.5 inch will be enough to perform the Dart with his 2" intake?

    tank arrived!!!

Finally today, i received the tank, very happy the way they made it, the holes were perfect, no chiped! The glass is 1/2 inch. I changed my overflow from the corner to the middle, thiking that i might be able to use it later and just want to use one side of the tank instead of 2.

    Here' some picture

The overflow was not done as i wanted... i will have to ask them to change it
