    Algae Problem ?

    Get a Yellow Tang ! Hair algae, Valonia, purple macro algae, green macro algae...... GONE !!!
    Get real ! Less talk... More Tang

    I don't agree. While your tang might eat it, most don't touch hair or valonia.

    Unfortunately there is no magic recipe to keep tank clean of unwanted algae. It is more a mix of fish, snails, crabs, fuge and yourself doing it as a team. It is rather ongoing battle with winning some, losing some.

    I've found it to be more a matter of efficient nutrient control and export to stop it in the first place rather then adding critters to eat it.

    I agree with Mickyfin.

    I would think that in the long run that fish will excrete the nutrients back into the tank and create an algea bloom at some point down the road.

    My new skimmer and a few macros sure help. I barely ever have to clean the front glass...
