For the Safety of Your Clam

    Hey all question for ya

I want to get a tridacna, not sure what kind yet

i was wondering what critter/fish might cause problems for it

i know whelks will eat clams, and certain sea stars, but i dunno what seastars might be safe, and what kinda "snails" fall under the whelk family that might occur in the aquarium trade

i have a good idea what fishes are safe, can someone point out common ones that aren't though?

most butterflys, angels [except genecanthus] and look out for pyranid snails.
small tiny rice looking things that will eat thru the clam. usually they are near the bysal gland [foot] and are out mostly at night but you can see some during the day.
