    Bristle worms

Hi just was watching two medium sized bristleworms in live rock systematically consuming one of my biggest feather dusters (tubeworms)! They were actually working in tandem ripping the feathers right off of it! It was sickening and interesting to watch. Just wanted to share.

    Bristle worms

No I didn't take a picture but I did move the feather duster..I will try and take a pic today. Half of the dusters' crown is gone, as I witnessed them literally ripping it apart! It was very amazing. I figure the worms were about 5-6 inches in length, just guesstimating though, as you know once you start pulling on them they can be pretty long. But judging from others I have seen the diameter of the worms would indicate to me that they were in the above mentioned size range. A few years ago I would have trapped them and removed but in the last few years everyone says leave them be. Now I'm leaning towards catching them, it was a vicious attack and one I wish I could have videotaped. I have also seen one in my open brain after I have fed it, I caught that one and it was about 10" in length. ps the ones I have in my tank are kind of reddy-brown and look like a long earwig/centipede.
