    lettuce nudi babies!!

I bought 5 lettuce nudibranches from JL aquatics to help control my hair algae and after having them about a month I returned from vacation today to discover 3 new babies!! So cool! The babies are only about .5 cm long but it is really neat!
it always happens when you are on vacation!!

I'll try and post some pics later today...got to find the digital cam after the vacation.

Lettuce nudibranches are sometimes referred to as sea hare slugs. they are one of the nudibranches you ma keep in your tank without worry and they eat hair/bryopsis algea although they are small and likewise have a small appetite. they are not the complete/ final answer but a nice addition.

Lettuce nudibranches and sea hares arent the same in my book...

They are both slugs, but they don't look the same at all.

See the pictures attached (stolen for you probably know where...).

sea hare are nudibranch also, and come in many different species, one particular one, called the sea cow, eats sponges, other eat flatworm,s algae, polyps, microbes, pods, etc...

usually very secialized feeders... the lettuce happen to be one of the useful ones thats not as hard to keep.

though there are also the cool ones like the spanish dancer, which is actually a prolific swimmer
