    Unhappy TRADEGY and FIRE

I know a local reefer that had a electrical fire last night.I offered to store some of his stuff so I went over to his place. one of his tanks electrical caught fire when he was away. the house is a total right off!!!! every single inch is covered in black soot. he had more than 10 tanks setup and I think there all finished. It was a crying shame. he was covered in black soot when I went over. I offer to house 1oolbs of liverock that he just picked up but he left it in the trunk so its pretty much dead rock. not sure how many corals and fish he lost. main point,, PLEASE do not take your setup for granted.
do all you can to make sure you have drip loops, proper wiring, etc,, I see so many people micky mouse there wiring that I'm suprised theres not more fires.
if you have a friend who is an electrician, get him to look over your setup.
RAY NEMESVARY is his name and its in the OTTAWA SUN today. he lives on LEDBARRY. $175,00.00 damage and just before XMAS. that would put me out of the hobby for sure.

Wow, that's a real shame. I know Ray, and I know he had two gogs. If the fire happened while he was out, did the dogs perish as well? All that just before Christmas!!! A real shame.

    Its sad indeed.

    Copied from OVAS thread OVAS

"One 220 gal tank exploded and all the marine fish in all his tanks perished. His two large dogs suffered smoke inhalation and have been hospitalized."

Dam I know Ray, was at his house last month looking at his stuff.

I know his two big dogs too, they're from the same litter Such a shame.

As mentioned above proper and safe wiring is a must.

A friend of mine had an apartment fire a few years ago and his two cats suffered smoke inhilation. They ended up with severe health issues and mental trauma. I hope his two big beautiful dogs fare better. They were truly beautiful animals. A shame about all his tanks as well.
