    Bubble Master Wire Wheel Impellar

    I came across the ATI website and they have a new skimmer called the Bubble Master, and is using a wire wheel,When I first saw it,I found that the impellar resembles DLS wetdry fiter media. The skimmer resembles the Bubble King but of lower construction quality this unit supposedly is good for upto 700gls.

    Supposedly it will draw 2000 lph of air with a Eheim 1260 which I find hard to believe. :hysterica it must be a typo.

    its selling retail for $499euro which is about 730$ cdn.

    Here is the website but its in german;

    Use babelfish to translate the site into english by copying the above link into the appropriate area...

    Looks interesting. Royal Exclusive also has some large claims of similar air input with the Bubbleking. That wire-mesh impeller looks interesting, though, how will it look in a year after being in saltwater? (rust?)

    The bubble diffuser plate looks identical to the Bubbleking.

    But I dunno. $730 Cdn, and you still have to account for shipping from Germany, not to mention inexistant after sales service in Canada, inexistant spare parts... If I were looking for a skimmer in that price range, I could spend a little more, and end up with the Bubbleking, designed by Klaus himself.... or spend about the same amount and end up with an H&S or Deltec, which both have North American distributors with spare parts.

    I agree, the extra costs from Germany are quite high, which many people do not realize that these hidden cost are their.
    I picked up something from the U.S and had to pay 17% more duty for textiles because the country of origin is from China although I made my purchase through the U.S
    And then like TMM mentioned the service and garantee part is just not worth it.
    I know that Will at Aquarium Obsessed is the distributer/Dealer for bubble king here in Canada.I like there skimmers but even more the Red Dragon pump thats what makes the BK skimmer shine.

    TMM,

    The wire mesh is actually a DLS type of plastic from what i see, it looks quite simular to it.I dont think its metal wire though.

    Well at least they found something to do with media since they dont use it that much in wetdrys anymore.

    Interesting... If it actually works well I'm betting we'll see more skimmers with this type of impeller soon.

    You know the old saying different strokes for different folks...lol

    I can see this impeller working well to create small micro bubbles. What I wonder about is how long can it last, since it seems to be glued on somehow,if its fused to the plastic impellar plate then I can see it working for a long time.

    The downside to this is that when company`s modify the Ehiem pumps,Ehiem does not gaurantee it,so this falls on the Skimmer manufacture to absorb defects due to the modification which will lead to increased prices for replacement parts like the price for H&S and Deltec impellars and Ehiem pump replacements.
