I may actually DIY the stand using 4x4 lumber.

How does the closed loop pump sound?

Where should the closed loop bulkheads be located? Within the overflow chambers or on the back wall?
Closed loop bulkheads ok at 1" or should they be 1.5" and why?

    Am I forgetting anything?

I would go 1 inch on the back wall.. Just becouse most of the pumps are only 3/4 or 1 inch.. might better suited..

If you run it in the oveflow camber then that would work too but when you do that you might get alot of bubbles from the overflows.

    just my thoughts.

    sounds great.
if you dont mind my asking, how much do you estimate the entire project to cost you? (and how much will it REALLY cost?)

Will two 1" Reef Rat handle the flow from a Sequence 4000SEQ19 / 4000PRO19 (4000gph)?

Do you plan to run any carbon?

Actually the ReefRats would only be pushing ~1000 gph each as the pump output from the Sequence would be split 4 way. Fromt he pump it would split into 2 lines. One of those 2 lines will go towards 2 Reefrats. The other would go to a Hayward Actuated valve switching between 2 lines going within the rockwork. This would give me flow coming from WITHIN the rocks.

When I run carbon, I run it from a chamber within the sump.

I forgot to mention that the Hayward valve would be controlled by a DIY circuit switching the valve back and forth every minute or so. This along with 3 reefrats in the tank should give A LOT of random movement.
