dolomite product

looking for dolomite product that is added to your reactor to keep your magnesium stable...it is sold in large quantities in quarrys...have read some great articles about this product but can not find anywere in the montreal area that sells it...

anybody found dolomite ? where ?
I know I can probebly find some at the ottawa natural clinic.. but it most likely will cost ( arm/leg ). any ideas ?

Dolomite is largely used in gardening as a soil conditioner (or something like that), so I would first look at some of your local gardening outlets especialy the particular places that cater to the indoor home grown crowd.

I also saw a bag of it at my local CTC last spring when I was getting some grass seed, but I haven't seen it since and their web site doesn't show it either.

I picked up a small "medical grade" container (250g) at the Ottawa natural clinic on Albert/Slater. its as pure as it gets. I will be watching my MG and CA over the next few weeks and see if I get any reaction. i'm thinking that 250g with less then 1/2 of its content being MG might not do much in ~600g of water.

I've ended this search/quest for dolomite when I picked up my calcium reactor. I had found a few sources of medical grade stuff, but arm/leg and was simply not worth it. from what i've been reading in many books and online, this is a thing of the past and you will get better results using a calcium reactor then trying to dose magnesium/calcium supplement.

The media I use ( CaribSea ARM coarce ) has a sea level magnesium level so its perfect. the dolomite gets real expensive when its medical grade. You pretty much have no choice to go medical grade as if not, you got no idea what else you are putting in your tank ( the extra ingredients like heavy metals, phosphates etc. )
