    Ideal Tank Parameters (Ca/pH/Alk)

    Just wondering what everyone here aims to keep their tank at.....

    Currently my levels are as follows:

    CA = 360
    pH = 8.1
    Alk = 2.8 meg/L

    I'm thinking on raising my Calcium and alk levels...wanted to see what the concensus is on the best levels to have.

    Also, I took these readings 5 hours after the lights turned off....would this affect my pH reading?

    Azonic .. Do A poll for each unless it can be set up for all 3 in one poll. I would also be interested in seeing the results.

    A poll would be good, but just fyi- I think natural seawater params are what to shoot for with a slightly higher alk to keep the ph a little more stable.
    ca-420 is natural seawater- 400-450 is good
    alk- 7- nsw --9-11 is good
    ph- 8.2 nsw 8.0-8.3 is good
    mag- 1300-1500 ppm

    I used to worry but that's about what it's always been in my tank. I have no idea why. Doesn't seem to cause problems though.

    I thought an alk of 8 was natural sea water?
    There is nothing so permanent as a temporary measure.
