    Bon-O-Clair distilled water???

I have just decided to test the distilled water that I have been using for my tank for a little over a year. I have been having problems with high KH readings (19-22) I was just wondering if anyone else uses this water? It is from Bom-O-clair on trim road in cumberland. I tested the water before adding it to my tank, after I mixed in the salt, and the reading was 19dkh. Is there a better place to get my water other than buying a ro-di unit. I figured distilled was ok to use but the high KH is what i think is responsable for the death of my xenia colony. all other softies and lps's are looking fine allthough growing slowly.

In kanata I have been going to one of those water places where they have the lagre ro systems, $3.50 for the 19l jug, have been using for months and everything is fine. I have not tested the water.

There is also a Bon O Clare water facility on the corner of Hunt Club and Lorry Greenberg (inside the convenience store). I've been using this water for well over 2 years. No problems what so ever.

Until I purchased an RO/DI unit, I used Bono-Claire water on Trim Road for almost a year with no issues.

ok well maybe it is my test kit that is crap then. I just can't seem to lower the KH. Guess I will have to try another test kit and hope for the best! Should I test the water from bon0claire before I add the salt? Would that maybe make a difference?

If the water tests fine before you add salt, then perhaps it's the salt.

I was using red sea, but I just bought a small bag of IO to start changing my salt. I did the test after mixing the IO salt with the fresh water. Does KH go down if you let the water sit for a while. I tested it about 1/2 hour after I mixed it?
